Description
I’m intrigued by the sculptural, twisting branches of the Engelmann oaks in the grove at Descanso Gardens (La Canada, CA). On this March day, I did two views in which I changed the orientation of the canvas. This vertical painting was done mid-day, and the background has lightened to silhouette the dark, dancing trunks.
