Description
This painting is one of a series of works painted as Artist-In-Residence with the Angeles National Forest in September 2015. I spent a week plus painting in and around Crystal Lake Recreation Area, which is in the eastern part of the the San Gabriel Mountains at elevations around 7,000. This work shows the spotty vegetation and slides looking up towards a nearby saddle. The clouds pouring over the high ridge give a feel for the dramatic and changeable weather.
9×12 oil on guerilla cardstock, September 2015
Guerilla cardstock is a heavy paper product intended for painting. It has a natural brown color. The painting will need to be mounted or framed with a backing.
