Here’s a view of the Pacific Ocean, standing on Jalama Beach (about 60 miles north of Santa Barbara, CA). So many blues and greens to capture in the ever shifting ocean waves, and a world of tan in the sand, wet and dry, compacted and loose.
This painting is done over an earlier work that has been sanded down. The underpainting provides some extra texture, and bits of serendipitous color flicker through the new paint.
